- [Instructor] As mentioned before, there are various types of types of components that you can place into a file. In order to create new components to place into the file, many times you have to pick a template. Knowing which template to select is also key in making sure that you're using the right type of component for what you're needing to use it for. If you go to your File menu, and then if you click on New, hit the arrow that then brings that additional window out or dialog box out. You will then click on Family. Inside of Family, what normally happens is a dialog box will pop up and it will go to where the template file, so the family template files, are located on your computer. If you have trouble finding those files, it may be because you need to actually go and navigate to where those are located.
