…Sometimes we're going to run into situations just like we have here…with an elevator shaft or a predefined footing just doesn't cut it.…We may need to be able to just sketch out…our foundation and have it behave like a bearing footing.…So, by clicking the Foundation Slab button, we'll add…a thickened foundation to the bottom of our elevator shaft.…This slab will act like a foundation once we are done placing it into the model.…So, to get started, in the project browser, let's go to Structural Plans.…
Let's go all the way down to our top of footing.…For a elevator pit, let's go ahead and…place a giant chunk of concrete underneath here.…To do that, let's go to the Structure tab.…Now, let's click the Slab drop-down.…Let's go Structural Foundation Slab.…Notice that you can place a Floor Slab…Edge, which is identical to this Floor Slab Edge.…So, click the Slab drop-down, let's go to Structural Foundation Slab.…Let's click the drop-down and see what thicknesses we have.…Luckily, we have a predefined 12" Foundation…
