- {Instructor] Autodesk has added a new type of reinforcing which can follow the path of surfaces that you pick. It can be convoluted to say the least. Let's get started. Open up Revit. On your projects, let's go Open. Browse to where you're keeping your exercise files and find Rebar Free Form, or of course, if you have a free form slab or something like that, you can use that as well. I'm going to click Open. Make sure you're in a 3D view. Let's get started. First thing I want to do is select the slab. With this selected, I want to click on the Rebar button right here. Rebar shaped definitions will include hooks, and we'll ignore end treatments. That's fine. Click OK. Now because it's an arc surface, we're going to go into Free Form Rebar. You'll notice right next to my cursor it says Select Host Surface. The next step is the Start Surface. It's a little bit confusing. What I'd like to do is select the Host Surface.
