Join Paul F. Aubin for an in-depth discussion in this video Navigating views (zooming, panning, and rotating), part of Revit Architecture 2016 Essential Training (Imperial).
- In this movie we're gonna look at view navigation.…View navigation is a critical part…of any graphics software program…and Revit is certainly no exception.…So, I'm gonna show you ways we can zoom…the screen to change the magnification,…pan to slide around or scroll the screen,…and to orbit when we're looking at 3D views.…So, I actually have a 3D view open here right now.…We can look at all three of those, zoom, pan, and orbit.…Now, the first way that I'm gonna show you how to do…that is to just simply use the wheel on your mouse.…Now, if your mouse does not have a wheel…I would highly recommend that your get one that does…because it will pay for itself in…the few minutes of its use.…
To zoom you simply roll the wheel.…So, if I roll the wheel down it will zoom out,…and if I roll the wheel up it will zoom in.…It's that simple.…Wherever your mouse is that will…become the center of the zoom.…So, notice here that my mouse is nearby this curb…here in the parking lot and that's what…I'm zooming in and out on.…If I instead move my mouse over here,…

7/13/2015Paul also shows advanced techniques for modeling stairs, complex walls, and partially obscured building elements, as well as adding rooms and solid geometry. Finally, discover how to annotate your drawing so all the components are perfectly understood, and learn how to output sheets to DWF, PDF, or AutoCAD.
