Modifying bottom-truss chords - Revit Tutorial
From the course: Building Roofs with Revit
Modifying bottom-truss chords
As you can see, it's pretty easy to modify the top cord of a truss. The bottom chord is a bit different, given the that fact there's nothing to attach it to. Really, when we alter the bottom cord of a truss, it's mainly only for aesthetics. This video has us cutting a section and grabbing an existing truss. We'll then select a truss and edit the profile. From there, we have the choice to modify the bottom or the top cord. Obviously, we're going to choose the bottom cord, and we're going to add an arc facing upward. So to get started, let's jump into our Revit Roofs file. I'm going to go to my 03-ROOF floor plan. On my quick access toolbar, I'm going to click on my section button. Now I'm going to cut a section right up the middle of my building. With my section still selected, I'm going to grab this far crop region. I'm going to drag it in so I can only see the one truss that I'm working on. It gets confusing really quick if you don't do that. Hit escape a couple times, scroll in on…
