- [Instructor] In this video we're going to learn how to adjust the orientation of a rendered surface within a revit family. Using the modify tools we'll adjust and align a model pattern creating a realistic, renderable revit family. Let's get started. In the 0205 exercise file, if you check your project browser you should be in sheet 0205 - Families. Here we have two views, one in a hidden line visual style and one in a realistic visual style. In our scene we have a bench inside of a room. If you zoom in on the bench in the realistic view you'll notice grooves along the side of the bench representing form work. These grooves aren't located where we would logically place them when building this bench. If I go to my hidden line view to adjust that I use the align tool and select the underside of the bench, if I suck the line in my hatch pattern, the bench moves.
