- [Instructor] In this video I'm going to talk about model lines and making a decision about when to model things and when not to. So in every Revit project there comes a time when you're faced with a decision about whether or not some particular aspect of the project ought to be modeled. Usually we're talking about smaller scale detail items and whether or not it's worth it to incorporate those things into your actual model. Now, you have to weigh the amount of time and effort it takes to build such details and any benefits you might get out of doing them in the first place. And the example I'm going to use here to illustrate my point is control joints on a masonry wall. So what I have here is what seem like the obvious way to do control joints. I'm using reveals, so I'm in a 3D view called reveals. And I've actually got two different reveals here but one of them represents a control joint and the other one actually represents an architectural detail. So this right here is more of an…
