Metal lath
- [Instructor] In this video, we'll use the cutout property to make a metal lath material. Materials cutout property allows us to select a black and white image with the black regions of the image indicating where Revit will remove portions of the material's geometry. Let's get started. Open the 02_10 Exercise File. In the project browser, you should be in 3D view 02 10 Metal Lath. Here we have a wall type with many layers that are exposed. We're going to add a metal lath material to this wall type. Select the wall on the left. From the Properties menu, click Edit Type. Select to edit the structure, and the third layer down in our material's structure, you should see By Category. Click the three dots. We're going to create and apply our metal lath material. Click Create New Material. Right click and rename your material metal lath, then on the the Appearance tab, we're going to assign a color. I'm choosing the darker gray, 128. Click OK.
