Locking detail items to the model
- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about the process of constraining your 2D detailing to the underlying model geometry. but it can be a valuable thing to do, the detailing that sits on top of that model can actually react to those changes and adjust accordingly. So let's go ahead and walk through the process, and then we'll talk about some of the pros and cons of doing so. So, you can see here to the upper portion of the detail. I've got some steel angles in here and here. I've got some framing here and here. There's a bond beam, and down here I've got a couple ceiling tiles, a suspension wire, that are working together with the suspended ceiling. and the first thing I want to point out is if I select any one of those ceiling elements, like this particular ceiling tile here, I'll hold my shift key down and press my up arrow. Notice that it moves completely independently without affecting any of the other geometry. All right, so let me undo that with control Z. to the…
