Loading beam
- [Instructor] Now I want to start the process of loading in the beams that will be here in our basement area. Now the beams that I want to load in actually happen to be some steel beams. And they are W8 by 24s. To load those W8 by 24s in, first I'll come here to where we have our Structure tab. Then we need to go to our beams. So select on Beam. Then there's an option here for Load Family. Click on Load Family. Then we now need to go to our Revit folder, go into our Libraries, then I'm going to the US Imperial folder. If for some reason you don't have that, I'll make sure that inside of the exercise file folder that this family exists. Then I want to look for our Structural Framing. You'll notice that there's not a Beams category, but there is a Framing category. So here's our Structural Framing. A W shape is a steel shape, so I'll double-click on Steel. You'll remember that I called it a W shape, so we come down to our W's. And this is a W-Wide Flange. I'll click on Open. Now it's…
