How to map CAD layers to Revit line weights: Revit: Tips, Tricks, and Troubleshooting

When importing a CAD file into Revit, colors in the CAD file can be automatically mapped to appropriate Revit line weights. To do this, you must first build a line weight mapping table, which is a simple text file that maps the colors from CAD to Revit line weights. However, any element in CAD that has a line weight assignment other than default will be ignored by the mapping process. This means that if line weights are preassigned in CAD, Revit will be able to read these directly.
