Everyone knows what a light switch is! In this video I'd like to throw in some switches. We will then add multiple switches to a room to illustrate how Revit likes to configure rooms that have different switching options. The we will go find some custom switches in the Revit family directory. Remember, this will be on test.
- [Instructor] What I'd like to do now…is complete our lighting plan and add some switches.…So, under project, let's go, "Open,"…let's find Switches and click Open.…Under lighting, let's go to Ceiling Plans…1-Ceiling Electrical.…I'm gonna zoom into this room here,…I'm going to go to Systems,…I'm gonna go to my Device drop-down,…and I'm gonna grab Lighting.…Now, under Lighting Switches…I'm gonna click the drop-down here,…and I'm just gonna grab a Single Pole light switch.…
I'm gonna put one right here.…I'm gonna come down to this room…and put one right here,…come over to this room,…and I'm gonna put one right here.…I'm gonna hit Escape.…For this switch here, I'm just gonna simply select it,…I'm gonna click Copy…and I'm gonna copy it down.…If we have the switches going…to different lighting groups in a room,…we do need to copy that down.…
Now I'm gonna click on Device again.…This time, I'm gonna Load Family.…I'm gonna go to Electrical,…I'm gonna go to MEP,…I'm gonna go to Electrical Power,…I'm gonna go to Terminals.…This is where Revit keeps all of their other switches.…
