Editing room-aware families

- [Instructor] We're in a new Revit project now, called RevitProject_RA, which stands for room aware and then underscore FAMILIES.rvt. As usual, you can download it from the website and use it as your exercise file. Now we're in a small building, floor plan level zero and we've got three rooms defined and three doors defined. Now the rooms are defined and what that means is that we might need to make the door families room aware so that we can do room calculations, if for example, we're placing doors between rooms. So how do we do that? How do we edit a room aware family and make it room aware? I'm going to select door three here. I'm going to right click and I'm going to go to Edit Family, like so. There's our door family. You can see at the top there, it's external double flush to rfa, rfa being a family. I'm going to expand the views and expand the 3D views and I'm going to open up the 3D default view like so. Now you'll notice over in the properties pallette now that room…
