Customizing room boundary calculations: Revit: Tips, Tricks, and Troubleshooting

All room elements in your model will calculate their areas to the same boundary condition throughout the model. This can easily be changed from wall faces, to centerlines, to wall cores. However, Revit offers no mechanism to create custom room types that have overrides. So to calculate special conditions that deviate from the rule, you can manually add room separation lines and selectively disable the room bounding setting on certain walls.
