Creating wall sweeps and reveals

- [Narrator] In this video I'm going to talk about sweeps and reveals. Sweeps are additive and reveals are subtractive. Now both of these can be applied to walls and they use what we call a "profile family", which is just a 2D family that defines a shape and then you move that shape along the length of wall and either add it with a sweep, or subtract it with a reveal. Now both of these tools can be done either at the type level, or wall by wall. So I want to show you both tools and in both instances. So I'm going to start with a type level modification for a sweep. Now all of my exterior walls are the same type, brick on metal stud, so I'll simply select any one of the wall, it doesn't matter which one, and then go to 'Edit Type'. Now in the 'Edit Type' window, I'm going to click 'Edit' next to 'Structure' and then what I want to get to is this 'Sweeps' button down here on the bottom. But notice that the 'Vertical Structure' it says you need the 'Section Preview only' visible for this…
