Creating type catalogues

- [Instructor] Have you ever brought in a family in Revit and, before it loaded the family, it actually displayed a collection of types that you could insert in? One example would be if you bring in a structural column, so let's say I went into Structural Column and I did Load Family and went into the Structural Columns folder, under Steel, and selected some existing steel column here. When I click Open, it would display this window and it would give me lots of choices to pick from. So I'm going to cancel that. I don't actually want to go through with that. What that is is called a type catalog. So, in this video, we're going to look at the process of creating a type catalog for your own family content. So, usually, you do this when the family that you're creating has lots of types and you want to create several of those types in a type catalog ahead of time, but allow the user to only load in the ones that they need.
