- [Instructor] I got a stair question in a email recently from a viewer. They were trying to create this stair that's pictured there on the right. They sent me that photograph and as you can see, there's kind of a tread and riser that sort of come together. They're wood and they sort of look like they're seamless, like it's all one piece, and he was trying to build a stair that would replicate that fairly closely, and stumbled upon one of the features in the stair types that allows you to use profiles to shape either the risers or the treads. So it seemed like a pretty logical approach, and I've got a little sketch right here of what he was attempting. If I zoom in on that, he was trying to draw a profile in this basic shape, and then apply that as the treads and risers along the stair. Now again, as an approach, it's perfectly logical, it seems perfectly reasonable, but in practice it was proving very difficult…
