Creating a sprinkler view

- [Voiceover] Creating specific views for a specific discipline is getting boring, I know. But being able to do this in your sleep is going to set you apart from other Revit users. So let's jump right in and duplicate a reflected ceiling plan, change the discipline and the sub-discipline, so we have that say to start running some sprinkler systems. In the project browser, let's go down to 1- Ceiling Mech, under ceiling plans. Right click, duplicate view, and let's just duplicate it. Right-click on Copy of 1 - Ceiling Mech, and rename it. Remove the copy of, let's call it "Ceiling Sprinkler". And let's click okay. Make you're double-clicked on 1- Ceiling Sprinkler. In the properties, let's scroll down to discpline; we'll keep it at mechanical. The sub-discipline, let's hit the drop-down, we don't have sprinkler; that's okay. Just simply swipe over HVAC and type in the word "Sprinkler". Click apply. Now we can scroll down. We have our own new category called Sprinkler, Ceiling Plans, 1 - Ceiling Sprinkler. Let's look at our visibility graphics. Type vg. Let's turn off air terminals. Let's scroll down. Turn off anything that has to do with ducts. Flex Ducts, we'll turn off. Let's turn off mechanical equipment. We'll keep all of our piping on. We can turn off plumbing fixtures. Make sure sprinklers are definitely on. And the rest should be fine. Apply. Click Okay. So, anytime we need a new view, it's important that we do it right in this fashion. Make sure the rest of your company knows how to do this as well.
