Creating a slab on grade

- Let's start looking at slabs. There are two main systems we will discuss in this course. One is a slab on grade, while the other is a slab with metal decking. To add a slab on grade, we simply need one thick material. Of course, concrete. We will duplicate the existing 300 millimeter generic floor, and modify it to suit our needs. So, let's jump into Revit. Let's get into our model, and let's go down to Level One, Structural Plan. On the Structure tab, let's click the Floor button. For our offset, make sure we type in zero and hit Enter. For our Floor, let's select Generic 300mm. Let's click on Edit Type. Let's duplicate it. Let's call it 152mm Slab on Grade, and let's click OK. Now in the Structure category, let's click Edit. For the material, let's click into here and click the Builder button.
