- [Narrator] Sometimes we can't just create a family and load it into a project. There might be way too much existing geometry that will inhibit us doing that. Therefore, we can create an in-place family which will allow us to use the geometry given. In this video I'd like to establish a counter height and set global parameters to that counter height. Also, I'd like to establish an elevation in sections to make it easier to model my counter. I have a predefined model so under models I'm going to go open. I'm going to browse where I'm keeping my exercise files. I just have this simple floor plan, I'm going to open that up. Of course if you want to follow along, use any floor plan that you have. Okay pretty easy stuff here right? So the first thing I want to do is I want to put some interior elevations inside of here. Go to your view tab. Click the elevation drop down, lets go to elevation.
