Creating a material takeoff

- [Instructor] Now, with scheduling behind us, we can delve into the world of material takeoffs. In this video, I'd like to create, obviously a material takeoff. It's really pretty similar to a schedule, just there's more calculations we can perform. Let's jump into Revit. Under Projects, let's go Open. I'm going to browse where I'm keeping my exercise files and in Chapter 10 I have a material takeoff file. You can grab any model you want to pull materials out of though. I'm going to grab my MatTO. And I'm going to click Open. And here's our model. Now I'm interested in cast in place concrete. So let's go after that. To create a material takeoff, we're going to go to the View tab. Now we're going to come over here to Schedules and we're going to click the drop down. I want to come down to material takeoff. Because multiple categories contain the concrete we're looking for, I'm going to use a multi-category schedule. Now I'm going to click OK. Let's bring in some parameters. The first…
