Creating extrusion roofs

- [Instructor] Revit offers us lots of ways to create roofs, and when you're interested in a hip or a gable or a shed roof, then the footprint roof is an excellent way to go, and we've seen examples of that in previous videos. In this video, I want to talk about the extrusion roof, which is just an alternative approach to creating a roof, and while it's certainly possible to use the extrusion roof to create simple forms like sheds and gables, it's also capable of doing other things like barrel vaults or swoopy, curved roofs and so on. So let's take a look at that. So to demonstrate that, I'm going to add a canopy on the end of the building here where this doorway is. Now, we could work right here in 3D, but I think it might be easier if we open up an elevation view. So the east elevation is looking right at that wall, so I'll double click that, and then I'll just sort of roll my wheel to zoom in on the area that I want to work on.
