Join Eric Wing for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating column offsets, part of Revit Structure 2016 Essential Training.
- Just because we used a grid…to basically lock in our columns,…it doesn't mean we can't move a few columns…around here and there.…The objective of this video…is to select a couple columns and move them.…We will then go back and examine the properties…of the column to see how Revit displays…the offset in the properties.…To get started, let's jump into Revit.…Open up your structural model,…and let's go down to Level 1, Structural Plans.…The first thing I'd like to do…is turn on our underlay again.…I wanna see what's going on in this intersection.…In the project browser, let's scroll down…until we find Revit Links, Architectural.…
Let's right click on that, and let's just click on Reload.…What I'm gonna do is pick a window around these columns…and I'm gonna pick the Move button.…On the Options toolbar, I like to keep Constrain turned on.…That's like having Ortho turned on in AutoCAD.…I'm gonna zoom in here, and I'm gonna pick a spot…like right here, and I'm gonna go in this direction.…Let's go 1219.…I'm gonna hit Escape a couple of times.…
