Creating a building pad

- [Instructor] We're starting a new chapter now in our Revit Architecture Certified Professional preparation course and we're now looking at modeling, and we're going to look at actually modeling various elements in our Revit projects. So for that we've got a new Revit project for you to download from the website and use as an exercise file. It's called RevitProject_PAD.rvt and we're going to look at creating a building pad. So, you'll notice in this project we're in the Level 0 Floor Plan and you can see our little building there all set up and ready to go. If I jump into the 3D view in the project browser here, what you'll also notice is this large, brown mass. That is our topography; it's a topographical surface. In essence, it's the ground the building is actually sitting on. So if I go into the site plan in the Floor Plans, there's the edges of the topography there. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to place a building pad, in essence a pad foundation underneath the building.…
