- [Instructor] Now that we know the general location where these columns will be placed, the next thing we need to do here inside of our model. Now, I do want to mention that right now we're just placing the columns in the correct locations. We will need to make some adjustments later on to the columns, so that they're deep enough that when we attach a footing to the bottom of the columns that the columns have the right depth associated with them, as well as, at the top of the columns they're low enough that the structural elements that they're supporting up above will actually go over the top of the columns. And then the columns will hold those up from underneath those beams. So let's start the process of actually placing the columns. Now, you can either go to the structure tab and then pick column if you click the little arrow here, next to column, you can select on structural column.
