- [Instructor] In this video I'm going to bring in another CAD file, but I'm going to do it slightly differently in this example. We've previously looked at bringing in floor plans and site plans in some of the previous videos. In this video, I'm going to talk about bringing in details from CAD. Now, we could use exactly the same process that we used in the previous two videos, and I welcome you to do that. And some CAD or BIM managers not only encourage that but they require that. So, you would just simply link in those CAD detail files. In this video I'm going to show you a slightly different process where we can actually insert the CAD file directly. And it will not be linked to the original DWG. So, there are some times when it's advantageous to not have that link so that the version of the file that's in the Revit project is not connected to anything and it's a completely separate entity.
