Adding wall footings
- Those walls we just added need something to bear on. This is where bearing footings come in handy. Revit actually likes to call them wall footings, which, by looking at the button makes you kind of think you're adding a wall. But that isn't the case. You're adding a strip footing that is hosted to a foundation wall. So, to get started, let's jump into our structural model. This time, let's go down to top of footing. We're going to add and configure a bearing footing. So let's go to the structure tab, and under foundation, let's go to wall. In our properties, let's click Edit Type. Let's duplicate this bearing footing. And we'll call it bearing footing 762 x 305. So, seven, six, two by three, zero, five. Let's click OK. Now, the width is going to be 762. And the foundation thickness is going to be 305 millimeters. Let's click OK. Now, the trick is, we have a good shot at selecting every one of these walls in one shot. Just follow through carefully.
