Adding a step footing family
- The stepped footing is cool for sure but when we are scooping earth out, it sure is hard to get a perfectly vertical slice. The objective this video is to fill in the chunk of concrete that is needed in the corners. To do that we're going to actually model an in-place family. So to get started, let's jump into our Revit model and I want to come down and I want to open up our West elevation like we did before. As cool as this is, this condition doesn't happen a lot. We need to fill in these corners here. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to put in a stepped footing family. So let's go to the Structure tab. Let's click the Component drop down right here. Let's select Model In-Place. And let's scroll down to Structural Foundations. And let's click OK. For the name, it's going to be Structural Foundation 1. Let's actually call it Stepped Footing. Let's click OK. Now what I want to do is I want to create an extrusion. So under Forms, I'm going to click Extrusion. What happens is Revit…
