Adding steel columns to the model

- With a structural grid in place, adding columns is a snap. The main thing you need to think about while adding columns is the fact that Revit structure likes to look up. That is, when we add a column we must specify the heighth of the columns as we are adding them. To get started, let's jump into Revit. Let's go down to Structural plan Level 1. Let's go to the Structure tab. Let's click the Column button. Let's click the Properties drop down. I don't really see any columns that I like here so we're gonna go ahead and load some. On the Mode panel let's click Load Family. In the US Metric directory, let's scroll down till we find Structural Columns. Let's go up to Steel. Let's go to M_HSS-Hollow Structural Section. I'm gonna make this dialogue a little bit bigger. Notice that there's a lot of columns to choose from. I'm gonna scroll down to 152.4. We're gonna grab HSS152.4X152.4X15.9.
