Join Paul F. Aubin for an in-depth discussion in this video Adding schedule views, part of Revit 2017 Essential Training: Architecture (Imperial).
- [Voiceover] In this movie, we'll create a Schedule View.…Schedules are an important part of any architectural…document set.…What makes schedules unique in Revit, however, is that…they are a live view of the model, not just a static report…that you have to draft out line by line.…In Revit, we generate a report, and it queries the model…and populates the schedule automatically based on…the objects that are already there.…So, I'm in a file, and I've already added some furniture…to it, and we're going to make a furniture schedule…because it's a really quick and easy way for us to look…at the Schedule Tool.…So, we can create a schedule either on the Project…browser or on the View tab.…
So, if you go to the View tab.…There's a schedule drop-down here, and you choose the…first item, Schedules and Quantities, or alternatively…your right-click Schedules and Quantities here on the…Project browser here and choose New Schedules…and Quantities.…Either one will get you to the same place.…The first dialog that appears is the new schedule dialog,…

4/18/2016First, get comfortable with the Revit environment, and learn to set up a project and add the grids, levels, and dimensions that will anchor your design. Then author Paul F. Aubin helps you dive into modeling: adding walls, doors, and windows; using joins and constraints; creating and mirroring groups; linking to external assets and DWG files; and modeling floors, roofs, and ceilings.
Paul also shows advanced techniques for modeling stairs and complex walls, adding rooms, and creating schedules. Finally, discover how to annotate your drawings so all the components are clearly understood, and learn how to output sheets to DWF, PDF, or AutoCAD.
