We don't necessarily have to model our roofs without the aid of some other geometric shape. No, we can actually model any crazy shape we want within reason, and simply glue our roof to the top of that shape. By creating an in-place mass, we can literally adhere our roof to any weird shape we want. The objective of this video is to start a new model. We're going to make a grid, then we're going to create and in-place mass. Once that's in place, we're going to actually put a roof right on top of it by using the roof by face command. So to get started, let's go into Revit. Under projects, let's just click on architectural template. In level one, let's go to our architecture tab, let's click on the grid button. I'm going to draw a grid right about here, and I'm going to hit escape. This is grid line one. I'm going to select grid line one, and I'm going to click the copy button.
