Adding piers and pilasters
- Now that we have columns and foundation walls, we can start inserting piers and pilasters. Piers and pilasters are actually considered columns in Revit. This is the best way to add this type of element to a model. The objective of this video is to use an existing concrete column and modify it to become a pier. To get started, let's jump into Revit, get into our Structural model. Let's go down to Level 1, Structural Plans. Go to the Structure tab, and let's click on Column. In the type selector drop-down in our Properties, let's click the drop-down. Let's find M-Concrete-Rectangular-Column, 300 x 450 should work. Let's click Edit Type. Let's Duplicate. Call this a 762 x 762 millimeters, and get rid of the extra little 2 there. Click okay. Now just because we called it that, that doesn't make it 762 millimeters square. What will make it that is if we change the b and h Dimensions to 762. Now, let's hit okay. Now, what I want to do is make sure that our Depth is set. If is says Height,…
