Adding isolated footings

- Piers and pilasters need something to bear on as well. This is why Revit has isolated footings. Similar to the strip footing, this is a bearing element for other foundation systems. Let's go ahead and configure an isolated footing. So, let's jump into Revit. Let's go down to Top of Footing level in the Project Browser. Let's come in on Gridline A1. Let's go to the Structure tab. Under Foundation, let's click on Isolated. In the Properties, we have M_Footing Rectangular 1800 x 1200 x 450. We'll use this one. We'll make it a little smaller. Click Edit Type, let's duplicate. I want to make this 1067 x 1067 x 305, and let's get rid of the two. Let's hit OK. The width wants to be 1067, the length is going to be 1067, and the thickness is 305. Let's hit OK. Now let's scroll over here, and notice that it's finding the column. Pick the column, and it traps it in. Again, it'd be nice if that was continuous. Go ahead and select your strip footing.
