Normally, in a flat roof situation, we need to build up the perimeter to ensure water doesn't just stand in the corners. We can certainly do this in Revit, but it's not really part of the roof function. We will make a roof, but it will be what is called an In-place Family. This video will have us create an in-place family that is categorized as a roof. We will then create a sweep around the perimeter of the entire roof. This sweep will allow us to have the proper 3D graphics, as well as the ability to cut that section anywhere at all and not have to worry about that section being incorrect. So to get started, let's jump into our Revit Roofs file, or any roof you may be working on. The first thing I want to do is in the project browser, I want to go down to the Roof level. In the Roof level, I want to look at my properties. So, go to your Properties, and let's scroll all the way down until we come into the View Range. Click the Edit button.
