Adding columns
- [Instructor] Now that we have our column grid, in this video we're going to add some columns. Now there's two kinds of columns in Revit, we have architectural columns and structural columns and while it's possible for you to choose one or the other, I tend to like to place both. Now the reason I like to place both is because they behave a little bit differently and I think both have advantages that we can utilize. Let's start with the architectural columns. If I go to the Architecture tab on the Build panel, I'll locate the Column tool and click the drop down at the bottom of the Column tool and locate Column Architectural. Now there's one family loaded in this file already, Rectangular Column and it has three sizes and I'll accept the default of the 24" size, the largest size there. You can click and place that column anywhere you like as you can see there, and if I just zoom in just a touch, you can see where that column is placed.
