Adding brace frame gussets - Revit Tutorial
From the course: Revit Structure 2016 Essential Training
Adding brace frame gussets
- Gussets are gonna be modeled similar to how I like to model stepped footings with an in-place family. What I wanna do here is model in-place some structural stiffners based on whatever shape we feel like coming up with. So let's jump into our second level floor plan. Let's go to our brace frame elevation. I'm gonna zoom in here and I'm gonna start modeling. What I wanna do is model a gusset plate here, here, here, and up here. To do that, I'm gonna go to my Structure tab, I'm gonna go to Component, but I'm gonna click the drop-down here and I'm gonna select Model In-Place. Let's scroll down 'til we find Structural Stiffners and let's click OK. For the name we'll call it Gussett Plates. Now what I'm gonna do is on my Forms panel, I'm gonna click on Extrusion. Click the Set button on your Work Plane panel. And again we're appended to Grid : F. Keep that in mind, click OK. I'm gonna start drawing a shape. I'm gonna come up about 800mm. I'm gonna pick a point here. I'm gonna come right…
