Overriding material assignments with paint
- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about applying materials to our model elements. So we spend a lot of time in this chapter, building materials, but of course we should make sure that we're comfortable with applying them to the actual model. Now the most basic way to do that, we've already covered and we're already familiar with, and that is for most of our elements, we can just simply edit the type and you'll see various materials. So when it's a wall, a floor or a roof, you're going to edit the structure and find the materials assigned to the different layers. When it's some sort of other kind of family, it's usually going to be at edit type and you'll have some sort of material there, doors and windows components, you'll have lots of different types of objects, but they'll all have that similar characteristic where you just simply edit the type to get to the material.
