Adding wall footings
- [Instructor] Those walls we just added need something to bear on. This is where bearing footings come in handy. Revit actually likes to call them wall footings, which, by looking at the button, makes you kind of think you're adding a wall, but that isn't the case. You're adding a strip footing that is hosted to a foundation wall. In Revit, I'm going to open Structural-08. In the project browser let's double-click Top of Footing. Here we are at the top of our footing. Go to the Structure tab. Under Foundation, click Wall. Again, we're adding a wall foundation, not an actual wall. Click Wall. Wall Foundation Bearing Footing 900 x 300. We just need to edit the dimensions. Click Edit Type. Now click Duplicate. Let's call it Bearing Footing 762 x 305. So let's say 762 by 305, and hit OK. Now the width will be 762. The thickness will be 305. Hit OK. Now, what we can do, if you hover over just one of these…
