Join Eric Wing for an in-depth discussion in this video Adding slab edges, part of Creating Concrete Buildings with Revit Structure.
…Slab edges can be tricky.…We use the slab edge function to create a…thickened slab condition where slab bears on our foundation walls.…To do, this we involve an actual profile that is loaded into our model.…We can then use that profile and the slab edge family to create the concrete haunch.…By clicking the floor drop down, we can select the slab edge family.…We will then duplicate the family to add a larger profile to the edge.…We will then cut a section to see how to join the elements correctly.…
So, to get started, in our project browser under structural plans.…let's go to level one.…On the structure tab, let's find the floor…button and let's grab the little drop down.…Now let's go to Floor > Slab Edge.…For slab edge thicken, let's hit the the type selector drop down.…Notice that we only have one choice, we're…going to need something a little bigger than this.…So let's make a new one.…To make a new one, let's go ahead and click-edit type.…For the profile, let's hit the drop down here and see what we've got.…
