Adding a base plate - Revit Structure Tutorial
From the course: Revit 2021: Essential Training for Structure (Metric)
Adding a base plate
- [Instructor] Okay, let's look at some more connections. The first one I'd like to add is a base plate. Now, the really good thing about this new functionality is the fact these connections know what their actually connecting too. So that means if your column changes size or shape, so will the base plate. Let's do it. Jump in the Revit and add a base plate. Under models, let's go New. Template file, I'll grab metric structural templates. I'm going to click OK. In the project browser, under Structural Plan, lets go to Level 1. On the structured tab, click the Column button. Let's see here. Add a concrete column 300 by 450, that's fine. Just kind of zoom in to were we are placing it. That can be unconnected, 2500, that's fine. Point here. Just skip a couple of times. Let's go back to column again. This time we will add, maybe a 203 by 203 by 53. I'm going to make sure that we're centered, right on this…
