Using phasing
- [Instructor] I've mentioned before that there are no such thing as layers in Revit. So then how do we control things like showing items to be demolished or how do we show existing to remain? Revit has fantastic phasing capabilities. We can literally select an item and tell Revit when it was created, when it's going to be demolished, and when something is going in brand new. To get started, let's make sure we're in HVAC Floor Plans, 1 - Mach. What we need to do is think about phasing. The first thing I'd like to do is introduce a new phase to Revit. If you go to the Manage tab, then click on Phases over here. Revit comes with two phases, Existing and New Construction. What I want to do is insert a phase between Existing and New Construction. So click Insert, After. And for the second phase, let's call it Demolition. Let's click Apply. Let's click OK. Now if we look at a view, we'll understand that it has a phase associated with it.
