Creating floor plans

- [Instructor] Now that we have some power floor plans made, it'd be nice if we could come in and make some more lighting floor plans. We kind of ignored it and we don't have any power ceiling plans or lighting ceiling plans. So let's go ahead and do that. I want to create some more ceiling plans. And then what we're going to do is we're going to duplicate these levels and we're going to create lighting plans out of them. I'm going to go to my View tab. I'm going to go to Plan Views. Now I'm going to go to Reflected Ceiling Plan. There are my missing plans again. I'm not going to grab one for roof 'cause obviously we don't have a ceiling plan for the roof. So I'm going to grab Level 3, 4, and 5. And I'm going to hit OK. Now, View Discipline, for some reason the coordination shows up and now we get three question marks that show up. When I drill into here I'm going to drill into ceiling plans. Notice that it says Level 3, 4, and 5. I'm going to make these lighting ceiling plans. So what I want to do is I'm going to select Level 3, hold down my Control key, select Level 4, and I'm going to select Level 5. Now in my Properties I want to take a look at what these are. I'm going to scroll down. My Discipline says Coordination. This says Coordination. So it makes sense that my Discipline, if I click my dropdown, I'm going to go to Electrical. Now, if I scroll down even more, my Sub-Discipline is empty which is what's generating these question marks. So for my Sub-Discipline, I'm going to click here. I'm going to click the dropdown and I'm going to go to Lighting. I'm going to click Apply. Now I've got electrical, lighting, floor plans 1, 2. Ceiling plans, 1 Ceiling Elec, 2 Ceiling Elec. So if I select 1, right click, Rename, I can call that Level 1 and hit OK. I can right click on 2 Ceiling Elec, Rename, and I'm going to call this Level, space, 2. I'm going to click OK. For my floor plans, I'm going to right click on 1 Lighting. And I'm going to rename that to Level 1 lighting. And my 2 Lighting, I'm going to rename that to Level 2 Lighting. I'm going to click OK. One more thing I'd like to do is I'm going to select my ceiling plans, I'm going to hold down the Control key and select them all. And I'm going to right click on it and I'm going to do what's called Apply View Template. Notice that we have an electrical ceiling set up. I'm going to select Electrical Ceiling and I'm going to click Apply Properties and I'm going to click OK. This makes sure that everything that I have set in my ceiling plans is going to show up when I do this. If I go to Level 1 ceiling plan and zoom in, I get my grids and everything is perfect. So there we go. That's how we create additional views.
