Creating drafting views
- [Instructor] Let's take a break from modeling and talk about basic 2D detailing. In Revit contrary to what I may have been saying, you can draft in 2D. OK, sometimes you just have to, but that's OK. We're going to investigate how to safely do it. In this video we're going to explore how to create a drafting view from scratch and start using our annotation tools to create a detail. Revit does have a pretty nice library of 2D detail components to choose from, so let's go ahead and get started. Under Models I'm going to go Open. I'm going to grab Revit Workflow-01. I'm going to click Open. Now let's pretend we just want to draft something. The Annotate tab actually used to be called the Drafting tab. So we're going to use this tab in conjunction with a view we're going to make. So let's go to View, let's go to Drafting View. I don't know what scale this is going to be at, I guess they assume inch and 1/2, sure. We'll call this DRAFTING VIEW -01. That's a terrible name. Click OK. So…
