Understanding import and export settings

- Most Revit projects need to import information and, at times, export information for use by other members of the project team who may or may not be using Revit. So you want to plan for these inevitabilities in your project template. In this movie, we're going to look at some of the settings that you can pre-configure so that importing and exporting goes smoothly. I'm in a filed called Import Export. It's just a continuation of the project we've been working on. The first thing I'd like to talk about is importing line weights from CAD. Sometimes, you're going to get CAD files from AutoCAD or from other programs, and you actually have a good deal of control over how the information in those CAD files gets interpreted by your Revit project. If we go to the Insert tab, on the Import panel, there's a small little icon right here that controls the importing of line weights.
