Join Paul F. Aubin for an in-depth discussion in this video Nesting families, part of Revit Architecture: Advanced Modeling.
Creating a pattern-based curtain pane,l like any family, can be either simple or complex.…In this movie, we'll look at a different portion of our building, the Graffiti…Gallery, and create a panel that has a little bit more complexity to it.…The panel itself is actually going to be fairly simple.…It just going to be a simple rectangular piece of glass. But we're going to nest…into it a Spider Clamp family that I've built and provided here in the file…that's going to occur at each of the corners.…To get us started, I'm looking at a file called Curtain Panel Nested.…We are looking at the Graffiti Gallery from behind, from the outside.…
I am going to select the Divided Surface here, and it's currently set to No…Pattern, and it's at a 5x5 foot spacing.…I am going to change it to a rectangular pattern here on the list, like so, and…then I'll deselect it.…So that's my pattern applied to it.…Now the next step is, down here in the corner, you can see that there's a tiny…little item inserted here in the file, and it's a Generic Model called Spider…
