- Many of the aspects that go into creating a good template are intertwined. Materials is a great example of this. Materials in Revit account for the graphical appearance of most of the elements in nearly any rendition from 2D plans to photo-realistically rendered 3D perspectives. In this movie we will look at the materials and the material libraries from a point of view of managing them as assets in your office standards. So I'm in a file called Materials but you really, you know, with any of these topics you could be in any file but this is just a continuation of the file that we've been working on. So let's start with how you access materials. It's on the Manage tab and under settings you can see the large button that looks like a mirror ball and you just click that to open up the material browser.
