Materials
Materials seem to drive everything. Not only do they control the aesthetics of our roof, but they provide the hatching, and the data for estimating and scheduling. The objective of this video is to open an almost oriental style roof. We will create a brand new material, map the image, and specify the hatching. To get started, let's jump into our Revit Roofs model. I'm going to go ahead and select this roof right here. I'm going to click on Edit Type. For structure, I'm going to click on Edit. In my material column, I'm going to click into where it says By Category. I'm going to grab my builder button here. What I want to do now is make an entirely new material. So down at the very bottom, I'm going to click the drop down, that's that little ball with the plus sign on it, i'm going to go to create new material. I'm going to right click on the default new material, I'm going to rename it. I'm going to call it Clay Tile. I'm going to hit Enter. You may have to chase it down a little bit.…
