- [Voiceover] Hello, my name is Paul F. Aubin and I'm thrilled to be your instructor for Managing Location Coordinates with Revit. Accurate placement of elements in the mainstay of any computer-aided design software program. However, there is often confusion over just how our standard notion of coordinates systems applies within the Revit software. In this course, I will help you understand how Revit handles coordinates systems so that you can place elements and share your models with complete confidence. We'll begin with Revit's own base points and learn how to view and customize them and their locations.
Then, we'll explore several scenarios with linked files, both Revit and AutoCAD, and understand exactly how to setup coordinates called shared coordinates in Revit, to ensure perfect alignment and seamless coordination every time. It's true that Revit approaches the subject of coordinates a little differently than other software but, once you understand how it works, it's actually quite simple. So if you're ready to put your coordinate confusion to rest, you've come to the right place. Let's get started.
