Designing a wall to code
- In chapter three, we are looking at walls. And in this lesson, we're going to look at designing a wall to code, and in particular not to take what Revit gives us out of the box at face value. These three walls are typical out of the box walls. This one's the brick and block. This one's a cladding and this one's the rainscreen wall. And if we just look at some of the typical settings on these, I'll click on the brick block, go to "Edit Type" and then "Edit Structure." And we can see within this, we've got the common brick, 102.5, then we got the fiberglass batt at 75. There's no air gap here, so that's one thing that we want to consider. You wouldn't particularly want something tight up against it, especially as fiberglass doesn't really behave that well when it gets wet. And then we've got the CMU: 100 mil, and then we've got a plaster finish, that's wet plaster on the inside face. And Revit's telling us that that…
