Creating a custom double-glazed panel
The default panels in Revit aren't double paned. Actually, they're basically a thick one inch chunk of glass. I'd rather have a more accurate depiction of our panel. Again, this is a two-step process. The first step is to create a panel using the curtain wall panel family template. Then, we're gonna load the family into our model, find an existing curtain panel, duplicate it and add our double panel to the system. So to get started let's open up our curtain wall project. Let's click the purple R drop-down. Again, sorry this takes a second. Once our drop-down comes down, let's go to New. Now, let's go to Family. This time we want to select Curtain Wall Panel. Let's click Open. Now, what we're gonna do is create an extrusion. On the Create tab, let's go to Extrusion. On the Draw panel, let's click our Pick Lines button and let's offset it 1 inch. Offset it up. Let's offset it down. Now for our Offset, let's type in 0. Click this line and make sure you pick the lock button. Come down to…
